TV Reception Problems

TV reception problems can be the bane of your life – you sit down to watch your favourite show after a busy day and all you see is static or a blurred picture!

There are a wide variety of causes of TV reception problems, the biggest non-aerial related causes being bad weather and loss of tuning on your TV. However, when the weather has been fine and you haven't adjusted your TV, you need to consider more complex issues.

If you have a rooftop aerial (which most of us have), it is a lot more difficult to correct the problem – the issue may be the aerial itself or it can be the cable connecting the aerial to your TV or network. If you have a home network, you may have a loss of TV signal from that.

It is at this point that you should contact an expert. Ofcom recommends you consider using a qualified CAI (Confederation of Aerial Industries) installer, which all Aerialtec installers are. Many homes do not have access to the full range of Freeview channels and up to 40% of homes are having issues with the digital switchover.
